The Seattle Sheraton is the largest hotel in the greater Seattle area. It’s proximity to the Washington State Convention and Trade Center made adding an additional tower a smart financial move for the owner.

Based upon a strong existing ongoing service and maintenance relationship with the operator of the Hotel, Control Contractors, Inc. was chosen over other competing proposals to provide the DDC control system for the new tower. Concurrently Control Contractors, Inc. was directly contracted by the owner to upgrade existing DDC and pneumatic control systems to current TAC I/A and Niagara (UNC) web based technology.

This project had many unique challenges in addition to any we encounter on large downtown construction projects. Upgrading of much of the existing system involved removing existing pneumatic controls and installing DDC controls on the existing mechanical equipment. All of this while the hotel was open for “business as usual."
